Ukraine 3000 Fund and Emory University of Atlanta School of Medicine Agree to Cooperate21.02.2008, 17:04
February 20, 2008, a meeting was held between representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund, Ministry for Healthcare of Ukraine, and the Emory University of Atlanta School of Medicine. Head of the Fund’s Supervisory Board Kateryna Yushchenko, Head of the Board of Directors of the Children's Hospital of the Future Charitable Fund Vira Pavliuk, and Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Vasyl Lazoryshynets took part in the meeting.
Prof. Kenneth Walker, head of the School of Medicine delegation, described the School’s cooperation with hospitals and medical schools in Georgia. Mrs. Yushchenko presented the priority directions of the Fund’s work in the sphere of medicine, in part, the Children's Hospital of the Future and Hospital to Hospital programs.
The parties agreed to launch special educational programs in the sphere of medical institutions management, in part, MD programs, and also trainings for Ukrainian doctors at the University by the Children's Hospital of the Future program. Representatives of the Emory University, Ukraine 3000 Fund, and Ministry for Healthcare of Ukraine agreed to create a workgroup to elaborate priorities for the educational programs and select doctors to take part in the joint program.
February 19, Ms. Pavliuk and Mr. Lazoryshynets visited the Emory University of Atlanta School of Medicine and familiarized themselves with its work.
