Public Discussion Held on All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health City Planning Documentation27.05.2009, 14:16
May 26, 2009, the public discussion of the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health city planning documentation was held at the Column Hall of the Kyiv City State Administration.
The participants of the discussion were representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, local self-government, architectural and medical circles, public and charitable organizations. Among them were Deputy Minister of Health Care of Ukraine Zynoviy Mytnyk, Deputy Head of the State Administrative Department Oleksiy Panko, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health Care Liliya Hryhiorovych, Kyiv City Council Deputy and Head of the Kyiv City Council Permanent Committee on Land Relations, City Planning, and Architecture at LCSA Oleksiy Yevlakh, Head of the KMSA Internal Policy Head Administration Viktor Honcharuk, Head of the NAS Head Astronomic Observatory Academician Yaroslav Yatskiv, architect, politician, and public figure Larysa Skoryk, Director of the Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology Institute, AMSU Academician Yuri Antypkin, and Director General of the OKHMATDIT Ukrainian Children’s Specialized Hospital Yuri Hladush.
The total number of persons registered for the public discussion was 365.
The major dopics under discussion were:
- Using modern medical technologies combined with the natural landscape;
- Using global standards in architectural and design solutions;
- Using energy-saving and ergonomic designs;
- Advanced construction concept and progressive technologies;
- Considering public opinion in preparing city planning documentation.
Those present suggested their critical comments and proposals regarding the design.
Among the issues touched upon in course of the discussion were coordinating project documentation with adjacent land users, in part, the NAS Head Astronomic Observatory; the cooperation between Children’s Hospital of the Future and OKHMATDIT hospital and oblast children’s patient care facilities; the Center construction progress and its current and future financing.
