All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health Project Presented at the Building Exchange – BEX 2010
June 7-9, 2010, Brussels, Belgium, hosted the Building Exchange – BEX 2010 annual summit. Traditionally, BEX summits attract heads of leading institutions and organizations from Europe and the whole globe to discuss urgent problems of modern construction and design.
This year’s summit is dedicated to ecology and nature preservation. In part, it featured presentations of leading innovative projects entwining with the surrounding eco-systems from Great Britain, Belgium, Hungary, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Ukraine, Poland, Norway, Portugal, Italy, etc.
The summit participants discussed many aspects of the preservation of environment and protecting it from man-caused effects of the intensive industry development.
Representatibes of the European Commission and European Parliament said that in the context of globalization the well-balanced coexistence of people and nature was extremely important. Thus, every new project has to have ecology-oriented accents. The modern construction has to be sustainable and energy-preserving.
This relates to a great degree to medical facilities. Today the developed countries certify new construction projects according to the so-called LEED program – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
Head of the Board of Directors of Children’s Hospital of the Future Foundation Vira Pavliuk, M.D., was present at the summit. She presented the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health project.
Din course of the project discussion it was said that the future hospital meets the modern green hospital requirements. The participants of the summit also said that the key to the Center’s success is a well-balanced combination of economic and ecological aspects of a children’s patient care facility, which meets modern construction standards.
BEX summit participants recognized the All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health project as one of Europe’s best.
