Children’s Hospital of the Future continues its work to improve the technical facilities of Ukrainian hospitals.

On October 4, 2013, members of the board Oleksandr Maksymchuk, Svitlana Ivaniuta and Vira Pavliuk visited the Lviv City Community Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 1 to transfer the fetal monitor FC-1400 produced in South Korea.

Equipment transfer is part of “Hospital to Hospital Program” by “Ukraine 3000” and “Children’s Hospital of the Future”. The program is financed from unearned revenue of “Children’s Hospital of the Future” Foundation.

Electronic fetal monitors (cardiotocographs) are widely used in obstetrics to assess the fetus during pregnancy and at the first stage of labor. The device displays fetus heart rate, uterine contractions and automatic fetal movement in real time. Spike-like 2 waveforms on uterine activity sector denotes relative intensity and duration of fetal movement. Single and twin fetus heart rate measurements are affordable. Fetal heart monitoring allows to decrease neonatal mortality rates.

Children’s Hospital of the Future aids the improvement of technical facilities of Ukrainian maternity hospitals and perinatal centers. In 2012-2013, the Foundation donated medical equipment for the total cost of 35 million UAH to the National Institute of Cancer, thus improving healthcare outcomes of thousands of children.
