All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health will be a multiprofile treatment and diagnostic healthcare facility, providing high-quality trained medical aid to children, women of childbearing age, and pregnant women.
The Center’s main goal is improving mothers’ and children’s health as an important component of Ukraine’s social and economic potential.
One of the Center’s special features is a combination of state and private funds. In spite of the fact that All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health is a government-owned institution, no public funds were spent on its creation. All costs of design, research, and preliminary works on the land lot are covered by private donations, raised by the specially created Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Foundation. Public control over the project’s implementation and application of funds is carried out by the Board of Trustees, whose members are the project’s biggest donators.
Ukraine’s state budget for 2009 didn’t envisage any expense items for the start of the Center’s construction, Guided by the decisions of the Board of Trustees’ second meeting and in order to improve the timing, the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Foundation began land use planning and foundation work with the funds raised by charity.
It is envisaged that ion the future all design specifications and estimates will be passed over to the state free of charge.
