April 10, 2008, the Children’s Hospital of the Future Charitable Foundation made public the results of the bid competition for supplying medical equipment to radio treatment department of the radiology unit at All-Ukrainian Center to Protect Mothers’ and Children’s Health.
The need for this competition was stipulated by certain specifics and requirements to the radiology unit premises of the Center in course of the development of design estimates for the Project study. Considering this along with the peculiarities of medical equipment envisaged for such unit, three leading world producers were invited to participate: ELEKTA Ltd (Sweden), Varian Medical Systems Inc. (USA), and Siemens AG (Germany). The companies agreed to take part and submitted their bids.

By the results of the competition, the winner was ELEKTA Ltd Company, Sweden. July 21, 2008, a preliminary agreement was signed with the company. It envisages purchasing, delivering, mounting, and aftersales service of two linear accelerators, computer tomograph for treatment simulation, planning system, MOSAIQ radiology center control system, and other necessary accessory equipment as scope of the contract. The main agreement will also include chapters on training specialists who are to work with the equipment.
