The NOVO Medical Center at the Lviv Municipal Children’s Hospital opened on October 28, 2014. Prior to the opening ceremony, the sanctification of the new building was performed by the priests of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
The Chief Physician of the Lviv City Municipal Children’s Hospital Dmytro Kvit spoke at the opening ceremony. The medics, he stressed, have for a long time dreamt of a chance to work on high-tech equipment for more efficient treatment of their little patients. “We are grateful to the donors for choosing our hospital to host the new center. Our collaboration is a cornerstone for the good patients’ care at the new center”, he said.
Center’s Director Mariya Klymovych spoke of the charitable programs to be realized at the center. The Chief Physician Angela Dyba and the center’s radiologist specialists described the advantages of the new imaging equipment, including the MRI, CT and ultrasound devices. Oleksandr Maksymchuk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Center, recalled how the project started. Due to the changes in Ukrainian political situation, the project to construct the Children’s Hospital of the Future could not be realized on the full scale. The opening of the NOVO Medical Center is one of the steps on the way to equip Ukrainian hospitals with the newest medical technologies, he stressed. “I am so glad that so many charitable activists and philanthropists have supported our initiative”, he said.
